Volvo XC60: Moving forward with a refreshed look

Recently, Volvo has been increasingly focusing on its electric models, and following the update of the XC90, the brand decided it was time for the XC60 to receive a facelift as well. However, compared to its larger sibling, the XC60 has undergone more subtle revisions, managing to retain its signature elegance and refined design.

The exterior updates on the XC60 primarily include a redesigned front bumper and a refreshed grille with a distinct pattern. In addition, Volvo has introduced new body colors and wheel designs, further enhancing the SUV’s contemporary appeal. At the rear, darker LED taillights and a bumper without visible exhaust outlets stand out, giving the vehicle a cleaner and more streamlined look. Notably, the charging port cover on plug-in hybrid models has also been redesigned, moving away from the previous circular shape.

Inside the cabin, the updates in the XC60 reflect inspiration from the flagship XC90. A revamped digital instrument cluster, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and a repositioned wireless charging station in a horizontal layout contribute to a more user-friendly experience. Additionally, the center console now features three cup holders, and the signature crystal gear selector is available across all trims, reinforcing Volvo’s commitment to luxury and craftsmanship.

While the facelifted XC60 does not introduce new powertrain options, it continues to offer the reliable 2.0-liter gasoline-based hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) units. These powertrains maintain their impressive output range, varying between 250 and 455 horsepower. Volvo’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability remains evident in these engine choices, ensuring a balance between performance and eco-friendliness.

In conclusion, with its refined yet subtle updates, the Volvo XC60 remains a sophisticated, stylish, and technologically advanced SUV. By blending aesthetics with functionality, Volvo continues to uphold its strong presence in the premium SUV segment.
