Demand for iPhone 16e falls short of expectations

Apple’s latest budget-friendly iPhone model, the iPhone 16e, was expected to generate significant interest before its release. However, early reports suggest that the pre-order numbers have not met expectations, especially when compared to the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models.

Renowned tech journalist Mark Gurman has shared insights indicating that demand for the iPhone 16e has been lower than anticipated. According to the Bloomberg editor, the pre-order numbers for the iPhone 16e are significantly lower than those of Apple’s flagship models.

Gurman, citing information from Apple Store employees, revealed that many stores had received only a few dozen (around 20-30 units) iPhone 16e pre-orders for launch day. In contrast, pre-orders for the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro often reach hundreds or even thousands per store during the same period.

This suggests that the iPhone 16e’s initial market performance has been relatively weak compared to Apple’s premium devices. However, Gurman emphasizes that this may not fully reflect the overall demand for the device.

Comparing the iPhone 16e’s sales figures directly with those of the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro may not provide an accurate assessment. This is because the iPhone 16e is aimed at a different target audience, offering a more affordable alternative for users who do not necessarily seek high-end features.

Moreover, the sales process has just begun. Launched globally on February 28. In the coming weeks, its overall market performance will become clearer as broader sales data emerges.
