Samsung’s new move: Affordable foldable phone Galaxy Z Flip FE is coming

Samsung is working on making foldable phone technology more accessible to a wider audience with a new model. Expected to be launched under the name Galaxy Z Flip FE, this budget-friendly device has recently appeared in China’s 3C certification database. Listed under the model number SM-F7610, it is confirmed to support 5G connectivity and feature 25W fast charging capability.

Samsung Aims to Make the Flip Series More Affordable

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip FE is designed to be a more budget-conscious alternative in the foldable phone market. However, the company is expected to maintain its usual strategy by not including a charging adapter in the box.

Reports suggest that Galaxy Z Flip FE will be unveiled in July 2025, alongside Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. While technical details remain unclear, rumors indicate that the device could be powered by Samsung’s next-generation Exynos 2500 processor. As for the display, it is likely to be similar to the panel used in the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

A Budget Foldable for $700

Samsung is taking an aggressive pricing strategy, aiming to bring foldable phones to a broader audience. Galaxy Z Flip FE is expected to launch at a price of approximately $700, making it one of the most affordable foldable devices on the market. This move clearly signals that Samsung is committed to expanding the adoption of foldable smartphones.

The Uncertainty Around Galaxy Z Flip 7’s Processor

Meanwhile, the chipset choice for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 remains uncertain. Samsung is yet to confirm whether the device will feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor or stick with the Exynos 2500. However, Samsung has historically preferred Qualcomm processors for its foldable lineup, making it a likely choice once again.

Could This Be a Game Changer for Foldable Phones?

Although Galaxy Z Flip FE won’t be a flagship-tier device, its balance of price and performance could make it an attractive option. By offering a more affordable entry point into the foldable market, Samsung may accelerate the mainstream adoption of foldable smartphones, appealing to users who have been hesitant due to high prices.
