Nissan is gearing up to relaunch its beloved compact SUV, the Juke, in a fully electric version set to hit the roads in 2026. This new-generation model promises to combine modern engineering with the familiar charm of its predecessor, all while embracing an eco-friendly future.
Built on the AmpR Small platform — a result of Nissan’s collaboration with Renault — the electric Juke shares components with the revived Renault Twingo. This partnership not only ensures technological harmony but also helps keep production costs in check.
A Fusion of Classic Style and Modern Design
According to design renders published by the UK-based Auto Express, the new Juke will retain many of the traditional SUV elements. Its front end features a horizontal layout highlighted by eye-catching LED daytime running lights. At the rear, muscular contours, split tail lamps, and a distinctive bumper add to the car’s bold character.
Flared plastic fenders and robust side skirts lend a strong visual presence, while the specially designed aerodynamic wheels boost efficiency and reinforce its futuristic appearance. Measuring approximately 3.75 meters in length with a wheelbase around 2.5 meters, the electric Juke promises a practical yet compact driving experience.
Battery and Range Insights
Powering the vehicle is a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery — a cobalt-free and cost-effective solution popularized by Chinese automaker BYD. Although this type of battery offers a lower energy density, it’s more affordable and environmentally conscious. Current estimates suggest a driving range of about 320 kilometers (nearly 200 miles) per charge.
Details about the electric motor's power output have not yet been revealed. However, Nissan aims to position the new Juke as an affordable, urban-friendly electric SUV. The anticipated starting price is expected to fall below £20,000 (around €23,300).
Entering the EV Arena with Confidence
Scheduled for an official unveiling in late 2026, the all-electric Nissan Juke is poised to become a compelling new player in the compact electric SUV market. With its accessible price tag, sleek design, and practical dimensions, it could be a game-changer for drivers looking to transition to electric mobility without compromising on style or performance. Whether it will rise to the top of the growing EV segment remains to be seen — but the stage is set.
